Old Japanese and Early Middle Japanese in Ogura Hyakunin Isshu

“Old Japanese“ was spoken in Asuka and Nara period (about CE. 7-8th century). I think this language has the smartest grammar and the finest phonology through Japanese history. “Early Middle Japanese“ was spoken in Heian period (about CE. 8-11th century). And, EMJ can be separated by merger of /ɸ/ with /β̞/. EMJ in this video is before the merger occurred. Please feel free to ask question. I am not good at English, so please pardon my strange worded and poor English.
