In this video, I discuss how fast-acting insulin also known as short-acting insulin or mealtime insulin work. This includes Novolog, Humalog, Apidra, Fiasp, and Lyumjev. It is surprising to know that these are not the same. Although they are all considered fast-acting mealtime insulin, they do not work the same. Some are given before meals, whereas others can be given with the meal or after the meal. For that reason, it is important to learn which fast-acting insulin best suits you.
