Powerful Gayatri Mantra 108 Times | Gayatri mantra | Om Bhur Bhuva Swaha Gayatri Mantra was first recorded in the Rig Veda and was written in Sanskrit around 2500 to 3500 years back. The Gayatri Mantra comprises twenty-four syllables organized inside a triplet of eight syllables. Reciting the Gayatri Mantra not only decontaminates the chanter but the listener as well. ’Gayatri’ is also a verse which is one of the seven famous verses of the Rigveda. The names of these seven verses are - Gayatri, Ushnik, Anushtupa, Brihati, Virat, Tritupa and Jagati. Gayatri Chanda consists of three stages of eight-eight letters each. Among the mantras of the Rigveda, the highest number of Gayatri verses are except Trishupa.
