Turkey: Russian Su-24 pilot’s suspected killer in court on related charges

The lead suspect in the killing of a downed Russian Su-24 pilot last November, Alparslan Celik, reappeared in court in Izmir on Monday, to face allegations he destroyed one of two Mi-8 helicopters that took part in the subsequent search and rescue operation. Celik appeared in court along with 17 other suspects in the case. They have all been released on bail and have had travel bans imposed on them until the next hearing.
