“The Russian Tank Operators Are AMATEURS“ Former Tank Commander Analyses ’Inept’ Russian Army Fails

In the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, Russian tank crews have been repeatedly displaying their lack of training and experience, resulting in significant losses for the Russians. Videos of their operations reveal a complete disregard for basic tactics and a stunning lack of awareness of enemy drones. As a tank commander with 24 years of experience, Former Royal Tank Regiment Commander Hamish de Bretton-Gordon says that the Russian tank crews are making every mistake in the book. One of the major issues observed is the close proximity of tanks and infantry fighting vehicles. This not only makes them an easy target for enemy drones but also limits their ability to engage multiple targets effectively. In a tank, once you’ve fired at one target, you need to completely move the turret to engage the next one. However, when tanks are bunched together, as we see in the videos, they can all be targeted at once. Proper spacing between tanks is crucial for their survival, yet the Russian crews seem unaware of this basic principle.
