Every year during chol hamoed Sukkot and Passover, the thrilling Birkat Kohanim (Priestly Blessing) event unfolds at the Western Wall Plaza, with the presence of hundreds of kohanim and thousands of Jews from Israel and around the world. This sacred ceremony was reinstated by Rabbi Mendel Gafner zz”l approximately fifty years ago, in the year 5731. Since then, this significant event has become an annual tradition at the Western Wall, where hundreds of kohanim bestow blessings upon the public, drawing thousands of people to the plaza to receive these blessings.
