Каратау горный хребет является северо-западным отрогом Западного Тянь-Шаня на юге Казахстана, находится в трех областях - Кызылординской, Туркестанской и Жамбылской областях. Простирается от Таласского Алатау и постепенно понижаясь, переходит в Сырасу-Чуйскую равнину. Водопад Жылаган-ата расположен на вершине одной из Каратауских гор, близ города Кентау. The Karatau mountain range is a northwestern spur of the Western Tien Shan in the south of Kazakhstan, located in three regions - Kyzylorda, Turkestan and Zhambyl regions. It extends from the Talas Alatau and gradually decreases, passes into the Syras-Chuy plain. Zhylagan-ata waterfall is located on the top of one of the Karatau mountains, near the city of Kentau.
