Height Over Bore Explained and Why an Elevated Red Dot Is Better
Are red dots getting higher? Yes, and for a good reason. Mike Glover, a former Green Beret and owner of Fieldcraft Survival, chats with DJ Shipley, retired Navy SEAL and co-founder of GBRS Group, an elite tactical tier-one training organization. The two discuss how an elevated mounting position helps preserve situational awareness and facilitates better non-verbal communication between team members during CQB engagements.
With a high optic, shooters can use the same head-up shooting position for their carbine and pistol, allowing for a more seamless transition between the two weapons.
