Junk is the Best Resident Evil Movie that Isn’t a Resident Evil Movie

If you thought only the Americans and Italians could make great zombie films, guess again. Today we’re traveling to Japan, where we’ll take a look at Atsushi Muroga’s zombie film, Junk. Released in 2000, Junk pays homage to a lot of different influences -- everything from Fulci and Romero through to Reservoir Dogs and From Dusk Til Dawn. It’s a film that wears its influences on its sleeve, but its tale of jewel thieves and yakuza trapped in an abandoned military base with the newly resurrected living dead offers up plenty of fun despite the familiarity.
