It represents the carrier and symbol of different cultures in a certain period and belongs to the prop dance category. Prop dance is created together with primitive dance; the latter began to appear when primitive humans were working with tools. It was a form of entertainment that combines human body movements with dance. Slowly, with the emergence of swords, there was the existence of sword dance. The transition of human dance from holding stone tools and wooden sticks to metal instruments also reflects the progress of human culture. Tai Chi sword dance combines the traditional Chinese martial arts Tai Chi Sword with the elegant style of Chinese literati to create a dance with perfect integration of artistic conception, Qi and strength. Extracting the elements of hiking and white wine tasting, both the tradition of Chongyang Festival, the performance combines poetry and wine with sword and chivalry in a dance with light and shadow against melodious ancient musical instruments. Wine and sword were both favorites of Tang and Song poets, inspiring many creations that portray romance, liveliness, and humanity. About Hu Yang: A graduate of the Beijing Dance Academy, Hu Yang is a lead dancer at the China National Opera & Dance Drama Theater.
