This song took me through two national radio contests in Germany (WDR“ Musikclub; BIG FM Newcomer Contest) and ended up winning one of them in 2013. I performed it in a TV show in February 2018 and received the most beautiful compliments from the host - fashion designer Guido Maria Kretschmer. „I won“ (written in 2008) was inspired by my former boyfriend who literally ate my guts. Hammering me about my outgoing personality, spending my money, being ridiculously jealous and territorial... Being even much more insecure than myself, my ex started driving me crazy right after the pink-shades-infatuation-period. This one was really gutless, he felt threatened by whatever „achievement“ of mine - be it a successful show in collaboration with a new agency, my good grades at the uni or the cool little jobs I was doing to be able to support my lifestyle. Before I realized it, I was broke, because whatever plans we had or whenever we went out (even when we went grocery shopping!) he had magically forgotten his wallet or emptied his bank account or something. He was so jealous, he actually managed ringing me out of studio sessions if he knew there were male colleagues involved. ♥︎ I’ll share the rest of this story in a different video and on my new blog on my website.
