Painted Paper Animals Art Tutorial - Grades 3-5

In this tutorial, we will make animals using painted paper. The painted paper was done in a previous tutorial. If you do not have painted paper you can use other papers that have interesting textures or patterns. Inspiration comes from the book “animal parade” by Clare Youngs. After looking at some of the animals in the book, choose one that you like and figure out what shapes you will need to cut, to later assemble your animal as a collage. You may add additional details on a separate white sheet of paper in Black sharpie to make it more interesting, adding patterns and doodles. Assemble your animal and glue all pieces on a white background. Materials used: - 11 x 17 painted paper (previously done in another tutorial) or other interesting papers. - 2 to 4 sheets of white drawing paper 9x 12 - pencil, eraser, black sharpie fine point, scissors, glue stick.
