Disaster in Africa! Extreme flooding hit Algeria and Morocco!

Extreme flooding hits North Africa. Severe thunderstorms hit Morocco and Algeria causing widespread flooding. The amount of rainfall that has fallen in the last two days is equivalent to the amount that these regions typically receive in a whole year. At least 17 prefectures and provinces have been affected, Morocco’s Interior Ministry spokesman, said on Sunday evening. Forty homes have collapsed and there has been damage to 93 national, regional and provincial roads, which led to a disruption in traffic and completely cut off access to some villages. The situation in neighboring Algeria is equally dire. Algerian civil defense teams are involved in rescue operations, helping families stranded by flooding in Illizi and Bechar.
