1936: Polish Tango Nadia - Adam Aston & Ork. Henryka Golda

Adam Aston & Ork. Henryka Golda – Nadia, Tango (Hochwauser – Lipski) Syrena-Electro 1936 (Polish) NOTE: This elegant Polish tango, so beautifully sung & played by Adam Aston & Henryk Gold Orchestra needs some special framework. I therefore chose for the slideshow several equally elegant photos f prewar Polish nobility and their residencies, as they looked before 1939. Those who have some knowledge of the history of the 20th century do not need to be reminded of the sad fate that most of these buildings and their owners have then suffered. Invasion of Poland its two neighbors: Germany from the West and Russia from the East - initiating the Second World War in September 1939, meant for Poland many years of terrible occupation, murder, destruction of Polish material property. Only a handful of old palaces survived this turmoil, their owners were murdered or, if they were lucky, they ran away to other parts of the world. Magnificent collections of art, books and furniture, gathered in these palaces and manors though the centuries, have disappeared too and now we can only remember that. By the sound of this wonderful music, of course..
