Niger military leader says it will prosecute President Bazoum for ’high treason’. Niger’s military council says the deposed president will also be prosecuted for undermining national security. The statement - which was broadcast on national television, detailed multiple charges against Bazoum. Bazoum was deposed and arrested after the military took power by force. Niger’s military leaders have rejected diplomatic efforts by ECOWAS, the AU & UN since seizing power on July 26.
