🆘 SHOCK! Melt waters in Latvia washed away the city of Jekabpils! An evacuation has been announced!

The streets of Jekabpils are closed to traffic due to flooding in the municipality. The water level continues to rise to critical levels, the city hall’s message on social networks says. Traffic is blocked on many streets, and the maximum speed is also limited. Public transport does not run through the closed streets, specific stops are not served, reports the self-government. In the morning, the water level in Jekabpils is approaching critical, so residents were urged to evacuate. Traffic is very difficult, electricity and water supply, and telecommunications are disrupted. Residents are advised to leave dangerous areas and follow all instructions from responsible agencies. After the emergency meeting, the mayor of Yekabpils region addressed the residents in a short video, urging them not to postpone evacuation to the last moment, when it may be very difficult or dangerous for rescuers’ lives, or even impossible. The local government reports that floodwaters continue to flow.
