Masatoshi Nakayama was a Japanese karateka. Grand Master of Karate Shotokan, a pupil of Gichin Funakoshi and his son Gigō Funakoshi, was the founder of the JKA (Japan Karate Association).He developed, together with the JKA instructors, a new, rational method of teaching. His main students were Hiroshi Shirai, who went to spread Shotokan Style Karate in Italy, Keinosuke Enoeda, who went to England, Taiji Kase, who went to France
