EARTH CRISIS’ Karl Buechner Talks 25 Years of DESTROY THE MACHINES

On May 25th, 1995, Syracuse’s own Earth Crisis released one of the most influential hardcore records of all time, “Destroy the Machines.“ Not only was it a landmark ideologically, with songs about straight edge, veganism, animal liberation, and ecodefense, but sonically the ripple effects of the debut LP can still be felt in hardcore today. I caught up with vocalist Karl Buechner to see how he felt about the record all these years later.
