Luke: Hi, where are you from? Girl: We’re from Hertfordshire, which is north of London Luke: Ok, alright, so which event are you going to see today? Girl 2: Err, we’re going to see the basketball Luke: Ok, brilliant, and what about the Olympic ceremony last night what did you think of it? Girl 2: Err, it was brilliant. Luke: Why? Girl 2: It made me proud to be British, it brought together our entire culture and it was really good Luke: What was your favourite bit? Girl 2: Colourful Luke: It was colourful, yeah? Girl 2: It was good. What was your favourite bit? Girl 1: I don’t know, well we didn’t see some of it, but... I liked the hospital beds actually, that was quite good. Luke: Ok, do you think the Olympics overall is good for London or bad for London? Girl 2: Good for London Girl 1: Yeah, I think it’s good Luke: Why do you think it’s good? Girl 1: Erm, I think it’ll firstly, like, bring in some, some money, and um, I don’t know I think it’ll ... Girl 2: Tourism, community spirit... Girl 1: It’ll make people want to come back to London Girl 2: Keep people healthy, good role models and everything Luke: Ok. Alright, thank you very much Girls: Thanks Luke: Have a great evening. Luke: Ok so it doesn’t take long to get here Sunglasses guy: Not at all, no Luke: Ok, what do you think of the Olympics so far? Sunglasses guy: It’s great, yeah, last night was really good. It got everyone excited, and err, it’s really cool to be here. Luke: Do you think it’s going to have a positive or negative effect on London in general? Sunglasses guy: Short term, for the sort of immediate few weeks it’s going to be positive. Long term I can’t see how it’s going to have that much of a positive effect to be honest.
