Основная цель соревнования – прогнозирование запаса воды в снежном покрове (snow water equivalent, SWE) в горных массивах Колорадо и Сьерра Невада, США. На основе разнородной информации (космические снимки, метеорологический реанализ, цифровая модель рельефа, данные мониторинга за снежным покровом) создан датасет на 120 признаков, описывающий, как физику процесса, так и природно-климатические характеристики изучаемого региона. В качестве основного результата, построена модель, обладающая высокой пространственно-временной обобщающей способностью, а также автоматизированный end-to-end пайплан для прогнозирования в режиме реального времени. The report provides an overview of the 2nd place solution in the SnowCast Showdown Competition (Driven ). The main goal of the competition is to predict the snow water equivalent (SWE) in the Colorado and Sierra Nevada mountains, USA. A dataset for 120 features was created, it based on heterogeneous information (satellite images, meteorological reanalysis, digital elevation model, snow cover monitoring data). The dataset describes both the physics of the process, and the natural and climatic characteristics of the region under study. As the main result, a model with a strong spatiotemporal generalizing ability was developed, as well as an automated end-to-end pipeline for real-time forecasting.
