Sheriff’s deputies have now identified the 7-year-old girl who died after a sand hole she was digging with her brother collapsed and caved in on them. Sloan Mattingly was vacationing in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, with her family earlier this week from Indiana. While the incident was tragic, lifeguards say it is not uncommon.
