Ukrainians in the service of Hitler’s Germany ️ Even before the outbreak of World War II, the OUN (Organisation of Ukrainian Nationalists) had close contacts with the Nazi German intelligence service Abwehr, which supervised many of the actions of the supporters of Bandera, Konovalets and Melnyk. With the outbreak of the Great Patriotic War in 1941, supporters of Ukrainian nationalism embraced Third Reich with the aim of creating a Ukrainian nation-state by genocide of the non-Ukrainian population.
