Wishlist now: #China, #Strategygames, #Trailer Relax Mode As a city-building game that puts a lot of emphasis on its “limited time challenge“ gameplay, Ballads of Hongye seems more “dangerous“ than it looks. Tense and exciting rhythm along with random events bring a series of challenges to players. You will need to satisfy the requirements set forth by your citizens, while attempting to decide on the best building plan to pick to maximize your production, as well as manage a set of advisers with many ups and downs along the way. During the Alpha test, we noticed that while this feature is exciting and provides a rich gameplay experience for a certain group of players, it is not suitable at all for people who like to mix a lot of things together and slowly build their cities without having pressure from the start. For the more casual side of things, the time limit and challenge pressure becomes something you really don’t want to deal with when creating a glorious city while you just want to chill, work towards the challenge goals slowly and thoroughly enjoy the game over a cup of coffee or some snacks. In response to this situation, we have decided to add a “relax mode“ as an option while keeping the two modes separate. New relax mode removes the time limit from the challenges and gives you more freedom to roam around and experiment with new ideas, but you still have to pay attention to your production and fiscal charts to prevent failure. But since there is no time limit, pressure is not as much as before, so as long as you carefully plan out your cities we are sure that you will have a great time. If things get too slow or too hard for you in either mode, or you just want to test your new knowledge in a fresh world, you can simply save your game and try out the other mode (Challenge Mode) with our new save game slot addition too. Save slots are pretty handy since they provide a lot of flexibility. Who doesn’t love backing up their hours long work, right? New Buildings, and Ideas! Useful and various types of buildings are best for city builders. Rich variety of buildings with diverse functions provide infinite possibilities. We may not have the Time Stone, but we sure have many buildings and math skills. Right now, Ballads of Hongye has more than 150 buildings. Each of them is designed by our skillful artists to look good while they are serving their purposes. We are in the process of increasing this number to enrich the gameplay. Since Ballads of Hongye features seasons, in which production by your facilities are affected. As you unlock more buildings, which provides more possibilities but also increases how much effort you have to put into calculating your production and expenses. In order to mitigate the miscalculations and/or provide a balanced production when needed, we have added an option to turn certain buildings into greenhouses with a shed. The greenhouse function provides controlled production throughout all seasons and provides you a smoother experience if you need it. Another change we have made according to our player feedback is adding more challenge completion rewards. Many Alpha testers didn’t like to get a single, fixed reward for the challenge completion. We have tweaked it so when you complete a stage during a challenge, you can choose among three different sets of rewards. These rewards might be a buff to your production, or a set amount of resources. If you manage to beat a challenge with S score, you get a special reward in addition to the previously mentioned rewards. We encourage you to try your best to see these rewards for yourself.
