Jean Luc Ponty - Live in Concert - São Paulo P Anhembi

Jean Luc Ponty recorded home from TV broadcast during live transmission of the concert. This is the very first Jean Luc Ponty tour in Brazil, specifically the first time ever to play live in São Paulo in the classic Quintet formation. I was lucky to watch him with different versions of the Quintet every time they played in São Paulo (missed only one or 2 tours in different formations). This was a “life changing event“ of my early teen years. I dare to say this is the prime of all Quintet formations, with a very young Rayford Griffin bringing down the house. I saw this genius live a couple of times with Ponty, and also with Stanley Clarke and others. The concerts were broadcast live on FM radio on the 5th (the night I attended the concert), and on TV on the 6th. The word of mouth was so powerful they had to add extra concert on Sunday last minute, soon after the original concert ended. The band is just perfect. Just perfect.
