For thirty years, shovel to shovel, two friends – gravediggers - Sasha and Yura - work together at the town cemetery in Sergiev Posad. One is a former athlete, whose heath was compromised at the beginning of his career. Another one is a former physicist-graduate, an unfulfilled scientist, who left science in the 1990’s to earn easy money. They feel free; they support their families and believe that it is the purpose of their existence. Yura is helping his divorced daughter to raise a child. Sasha’s daughter is all grown up, so he finds an outlet by working as a trainer – he teaches single combats to teenagers. Bogatyr’ Yura, who digs graves shirtless even during winter, hopes that his health will last for another ten years or more, so he could have enough time to provide for his granddaughter. However, the former physicist is 63 years old. Sasha is even younger than his partner, but it becomes more and more difficult for him to combine the work of a gravedigger and a trainer. The two friends get a new partner – 40 - year old Alexey. He is a broken businessman, deceived by his partners. Alexey hopes to earn enough money quickly and leave the cemetery, but it is a known fact – “there is nothing more permanent, than something temporary”. Under the bottomless sky, above eternal the dreams and hopes of our heroes come true? На подмосковном кладбище тридцать лет работают друзья-могильщики Саша и Юра. Первый - бывший спортсмен, второй физик-аспирант, несостоявшийся ученый, который в 90-е бросил науку ради быстрого заработка. Они чувствуют себя свободными, обеспечивают семьи и в этом видят смысл жизни. Бывший физик Юра, надеется, что здоровья ему хватит еще лет на десять, как раз успеет внучку на ноги поставить. Хотя ему уже 63 года. Саша моложе своего напарника, но и ему становится все тяжелее совмещать работу могильщика и тренера. У друзей появляется новый напарник – 40-летний Алексей. Он разорившийся бизнесмен, которого «кинули» партнеры.
