“My Hope“ (“Надежда“) in Yiddish, Birobidzhan choir Ilanot, TV version of June 12, 2022

The song “My Hope“ (“Надежда“) was written in 1971 by the well known Soviet art couple, Aleksandra Pakhmutova (the author of the music) and Nikolai Dobronravov (the author of the original lyrics).
Technically, the name of the song should be translated “Hope“ or “The Hope“; however, I believe that “My Hope“ captures better the semantic and feeling of the original.
The song is about journey and loneliness; I was once waiting alone early in the morning at one of the Moscow train stations and it somehow occurred to me to translate it into Yiddish. I believe that my translation is very accurate and fairly close to the spirit of the original.
Incidentally, it happened to be that my Yiddish translation was included in an all-Russian art project dedicated to the
