Boston Dynamics unveils talking Robodog with Chat GPT

Spot the robot dog has had an upgrade, in the form of a voice that can now answer questions. Boston Dynamics’ famous mechanical good boy has been paired with Chat GPT, and users can now ask him questions about his missions, system and hardware, among other things. Spot’s voice is slightly unnerving, however - it’s provided by Google text-to-speech, so he now sounds like a slightly stressed soccer mom. (Boston really missed a trick not giving him the voice of Scooby Doo, but hey ho.) Now all we need is to load some wisecracking one-liners into Spot, and we’ve got ourselves a hit movie.
