Reds Return To Russia Aka Communists Turned Out (1920)

The US government deports Russian Communists back to Russia, Jersey city, New Brunswick in the United States of America. Full titles read: “Reds return to Russia. US Government deport undesirable Bolshies - with single tickets only!“ The film opens with some lovely animated footage. Framed circular mask shot of undesirable Russians, they are a scruffy looking bunch of individuals with rough uncut shaggy beards! They stand at the stern of ship named “The Soviet Ark“. They wave at us. M/S of the real thing we see the Russians boarding a ship at dockside, (they don’t look quite as undesirable!) most of them are wearing overcoats. One of the men looks to be carrying a violin or viola. The men board the lower decks of the ship via a gangplank. A dock worker supervises the proceedings.
