In this first part, we focus on a versatile and unique method of modeling buildings, adaptable to various scales from quaint houses to sprawling apartment complexes. I personally love this method but it has some drawbacks - read below 📏 Efficient Modeling Approach This method emphasizes separating the building into manageable components, simplifying the modeling process for very large projects. This technique, particularly beneficial for large projects, allows for easy scaling and adaptability. ⏱️ Time-Saving Techniques We employ the ’box unwrap’ method for texturing, streamlining the application of textures across different objects in extensive exterior projects. This approach significantly reduces the time spent on unwrapping each element individually, a crucial advantage in large-scale developments. ⚠️One of the trade-offs to note: As parts are not joined, some may lack bevel detailing. In most scenarios, this is negligible since the primary building parts will have bevels, and the buildings are often viewed from a distance where such details are not noticeable. For those preferring detailed window bevels, we suggest extruding the outer wall inwards rather than the inner wall outwards. Also, for smaller buildings where you are closer, you may prefer to join everything together to do more specific UV unwrapping too.
