‘80% of Ukrainian military is destroyed’: Former US defence advisor

Last week, Prime Minister Albanese went to Ukraine to pledge a further 100m in military aid to assist in the war against Russia. Colonel Douglas Macgregor, former advisor to the US Secretary of Defence says this aid won’t help much as ‘80% of the Ukrainian military is destroyed’. He says ‘even in the best of times a standing professional force has difficulty rapidly assimilating new weapons, that are not easily employed without serious training.’ Contrary to mainstream media reporting, Colonel Macgregor says the Russian army is ‘by no means overstretched or hurting’. He claims Western sanctions aren’t affecting Russia and have in fact ‘blown back and hurt us’. Macgregor says Russians have been able to sell ‘energy, minerals, resources and food to China, to India and to Japan, so the only ones to suffer are European allies and the US.’
