Chullo is a distinctive style of hat from various Andean communities in Peru. Woven with multicolored sheep’s wool yarn, its different designs represent people’s traditions and beliefs. Therefore designs vary across regions. The chullo you are holding was woven in Cusco. Its designs stand for the apus or mountains, and the Pachamama, or Mother Earth.
