He is a former hikikomori that was transported to Lugunica through unknown means, being given the Authority which he calls “Return by Death“ by Satella, and meeting the Royal Selection Candidate Emilia. He officially became Emilia’s knight and subsequently became a knight of the Dragon Kingdom of Lugunica[1] (though with no official duties towards the Kingdom) following the incident at the Sanctuary and is later revealed to be a Sage Candidate: someone with the necessary qualifications to become a Sage.
