Creative use of AI to learn vocabulary and develop storytelling skills

I hope the video sent you to the caption because I have some fun, creative ideas to share! Laura and I love to use teaching innovations to teach, so using AI in many of our activities to write, discuss, and even generate photos and videos is really nothing new. **This post is about creative use of simple AI to develop 21st century skills (creativity) & storytelling skills.** Here’s an activity breakdown: ⚡ Students take photos and we use TikKkkKTok (we don’t want the algorithm to hate us, but you know which app I am talking about, or any other AI that can generate new images based on our uploaded photography. We recently used Fotor in class. ⚡ We plan and discuss on how to take photos and include lighting and composition to get the best results. ⚡We take the photo and then input it into AI of choice and add keywords (some apps do it automatically, but in class we prefer to do it manually). Students write and have a lot of creative ideas while generating. ⚡We keep rewriting our text to help the AI create what we want. ⚡We then use it to write a mini story, or to narrate a story through images. The best part is that by using our own photos WE RESPECT ARTISTS AND DO NOT ENGAGE IN AI PLAGIARISM. We create content that will be transformed into something else, and try to discuss how AI works when it comes to art generation and we touch on ethical side of it. The amount of skills students gain and the amount of language they acquire is astonishing, to be honest. ✨Has your child ever learned some new skills with the help of AI? Do tell us, we’d really love to know! #harrypotter #harrypotterreading #englishforkids #englishforchildren #englishforprimary
