La Vuelta 2021 Stage 15 Highlights | Breakaways And GC Action In The Mountains

Another tough day in the Mountains, the stage starts in Sierra de Gredos towards the eastern area of the massifs. Flat at the beginning around the region of Extremadrua, once the riders enter the province of Castilla-La-Mancha the first of four cat climbs begins. The first climb is up the Alto de la Centera for , but not even before riders complete a full descent does the next climb of Puerto de Pedro Bernardo ascend, albeit a longer but shallower climb. Roglič and Mas could be battling it out through this stage with the next climb reaching 1,570m above sea level (the highest point of the stage), climbing for a whole 20km and with the last climb of Puerto San Juan de Nava having bonus points could cause a scramble between the top of the GC contenders.
