Hammal hammers ’em! Taylor takes his first Revo MX2 British championship race win and overall

It was supposed to be the day when runaway title hopeful Isak Gifting clinched his first British MX2 championship a round early, but that’s definitely not what happened when the series moved to Schoolhouse in County Durham. Bad starts and crashes meant the Swedish GasGas ace, who has led since the opening round, failed to get the points he needed to sew it up. Instead, it was Taylor Hammal who won the opening race then followed it up with third to take his his first overall win. But the hardest luck was all for former MX champ Elliott Banks-Browne who was uncatchable on the spectacular track. Fastest in qualifying, he was on his way to an easy victory in race one when his chain came off. But he bounced back to win race two in style from Jorgan-Matthias Talviku who took second for second overall. Local hero Carlton Husband tailed Hammal over the line in race one to take a career-best second place but was outgunned by Mel Pocock in race two.
