BIG JIM SULLIVAN, He gave guitar lessons to a teenage Ritchie Blackmore!

Vistit me at: My music site: #!/iansteal This is the man,.. “Big Jim Sulllivan!“ There is very little of him playing on the web. He was a MONSTER guitarist playing with his group called “TIGER“ in the 70’s . Big Jim did thousands of high profile sessions in the 60’s! He also played on the aweome and obscure self-titled PROG album by PACIFIC EARDRUM. Sullivan taught Blackmore some things when he was a young teen. Sullivan was the main guitarist for Tom Jones during the early 70’s. :) Sullivan was also the blazing telecaster player whom everyone thought was Jeff Beck on the “GREEN BULLFROG“ album (BECK was NOT on that album. It was Big Jim, Blackmore, and Albert Lee) *This is a 5 minute snippit from “FORBIDDEN ZONES“ **Update regarding Jim’s passing today: I had the pleasure of speaking to Big Jim once by phone when we were trying to release his two TIGER albums on CD.(Unfortunately that project never materialized) He couldn’t have been more gracious with all my questions.I also provided him a copy of the amazing but rare “Pacific Eardrum“ CD that he didn’t even have, (and he was on it!) He is a real loss to the guitar playing world. Best wishes to his family during this difficult time. Locate the album “TEST OF TIME“ and you will hear a prog/fusion/guitar masterpiece with Simon Phillips on drums and Percy Jones on bass!
