North of New Zealand, a series of suspicious earthquakes began at one of the region’s most explosive volcanoes. Meanwhile in Russia, two new volcanic eruptions began at volcanoes in the far east. And, in the Pacific Ocean, there are 3 ongoing submarine volcanic eruptions. This week’s stories have a heavy emphasis on submarine volcanic eruptions, which make up a significant portion of global volcanic activity. new volcanic eruption was discovered to be ongoing north of Guam in the Northern Mariana Islands.
