В столичном Дворце бильярдного спорта “Москвич“ 16 мая стартовал традиционный, уже 11-й по счету представительный международный турнир “Кубок мэра Москвы“ по особенно популярной в нашей стране и ближнем зарубежье дисциплине “свободная пирамида“. Эти соревнования параллельно имеют статус этапа Кубка мира. Турнир сменил прописку и впервые проводится в ДБС “Москвич“. Напомним, что раньше мастера бильярда оспаривали главный приз в спорткомплексе “Олимпийский“ или в Лужниках. Организаторами “Кубка мэра Москвы“ выступают департамент спорта города Москвы, Московский Союз бильярдного спорта (МСБС) и ФГБУ “Редакция “Российской газеты“. Соревнования проходят при поддержке правительства Москвы и под эгидой Международной конфедерации пирамиды и Федерации бильярдного спорта России. Общий призовой фонд соревнований составляет 2,725 млн руб., и это на девять процентов больше, чем в 2022-м. Победитель у мужчин получит чек на 300 тыс. руб., сильнейшая у девушек - 225 тыс. руб. Суммарно же различные премиальные суммы заработают по 32 лучших участника, то есть все те, кто дойдет как минимум до стадии 1/16 финала. В рамках турнира запланирована матчевая встреча (в формате 5х5) в дисциплине “свободная пирамида“ между сборной России и командой Международной конфедерации пирамиды (сборная мира).
