Dinosaur Music: Computer Music by Chafe, Jaffe, Schottstaedt

This is a collection of early computer music tracks from the Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA). The primary sound source is the Systems Concept Digital Synthesizer, or “Samson Box“ which was designed by Pete Samson. Christopher David Chafe is a composer/cellist with interest in the computer for music performance and composition, he worked at Institute de recherche et coordination acoustique/musique (IRCAM), working on new methods of sound synthesis based on physical modeling. David Aaron Jaffe is a composer / violinist / mandolinist, who played in a bluegrass band early in life (something that inspired silicon valley breakdown) and is known for his maximalist approach to music. William Gardner Schottstaedt has worked in the computer industry, and has made many contributions to Computer Music, including a music programing language (PLA) and a semi-automatic composition program.
