#DateInHistory On This Day, the Russian Armed Forces celebrate Day of Nuclear, Biological, Chemical Protection Troops This branch originates on 13 November 1918 when the Revolutionary Military Council issued an order No. 220 to establish the first chemical service of the Red Army. ️ The NBC Protection Troops assess and evaluate NBC situations, perform active decontamination of personnel, areas, roads, and fortifications, utilize aerosols for camouflage, fire flame throwing components to engage the enemy, and provide disaster relief. ? Four brigades and four regiments have been awarded the title of Guards during the SMO. Four officers have been awarded the highest title of Hero of the Russian Federation and 4,563 servicemen have received state and departmental awards, including 320 officers who got of the Order of Courage.
