TRIP REPORT - Amtrak and Air Choice One, St. Louis to New York

I code-named this one “Trains, Planes, and Automobiles: The Real Life Trip Report“. It’s a play on the 1987 movie “Planes Trains and Automobiles“, and it’s fitting since I had similar luck. Let me back up a bit... Back during the spring, I came up with a silly idea. I teamed up with a good friend of mine to travel halfway across the country on Amtrak using a sleeper train. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do, and I figured it would make a really fun video. All was going well until a few days out when my friend had to back out at the last minute due to a family emergency. I decided to continue with the trip anyway, but the issues were far from over. I ended up on my own having to solve problem after problem on the fly, and my simple little overnight train trip turned into a mess of driving, flying, public transit, and train travel. Highlights include landing at O’Hare in a single engine propeller plane, coming within minutes of missing my train in Chicago,
