How I make an evergreen ceramic dish with fir and pine cones #satisfying #pottery #vuvuceramics

Evergreens represent the powerful spirit in all life. Thriving throughout cold winters, evergreen trees are a beautiful symbol of standing strong even in dark and difficult times. Throughout history, evergreen branches and trees have been brought indoors in the dark winter months to bring freshness and energy with them. Pine and fir trees symbolize rebirth, eternal life, and a hopeful future. To native Americans, pine trees symbolize peace and wisdom. Evergreens are also some of the longest living forms of life on Earth- here in the Western United States, living bristlecone pines are as old as 5000 years. This ceramic dish is made with the prints of real evergreen needles and small cones. You’ll see the tiniest touch of blue paint on a few of the needles- this branch was marked and cut by a park ranger as part of maintenance of conifer trees in the Lake Tahoe basin. By immortalizing this twig in clay, I can keep these needles evergreen in my own way. The beautiful natural textures are pressed into ceramic clay and then enhanced with ceramic stains and glazes, and accents of real gold add sparkle. The ceramic piece featuring winter pine is hand sculpted, hand painted, and kiln-fired to over 2200F. The gold sparkles are real 22kt gold. #wintervibes #evergreen #ceramicart #clay
