Gilding a console table

A hand made replica of a console table. The original is a Late Gustavian console table from the early 19th century. It has been made by hand with handplaned frameworks, woodturned leggs and hand carved details. What you see in this video is the process of gilding it, the applying of the gold and the metal leafs (a combination that started to be in use in Sweden from about the mid 18th century) all along to the final step, the distressing it needs to get the patina required to match the original table.
