1500 earthquakes in Iceland. Threat of volcanic eruption

Iceland declared a state of emergency, more than 1,500 earthquakes per day. About 4,000 people were evacuated from the Icelandic city overnight after thousands of tremors were felt as a result of the volcanic eruption. A series of powerful earthquakes rocked the southwestern Reykjanes Peninsula, which could be a precursor to a volcanic eruption near Sundhnyukagigar, about miles north of the town of Grindavik. The Civil Protection Agency said: “Earthquakes could become stronger than those that have already occurred and this sequence of events could lead to an eruption.“ Authorities decided to evacuate Grindavik after the Met Office said there was a “possibility that magma infiltration had spread underneath Grindavik“. #iceland #typhoon #rain #earthquakes #flood #grindavik #volcano #earthquake #évacuation #disasters #storm #news #reykjanes #weather The channel lists natural disasters such as: 1) Emergency geological situations: earthquake, volcanic eruption, mud, landslide, landslide, avalanche; 2) Emergency hydrological situations: flood, tsunami, limnological disaster, flood, flood; 3) Fires: forest fire, peat fire; 4) Meteorological emergencies: Tornado, Cyclone, Blizzard, Hail, Drought, Tornado, Hail, Hurricane, Tsunami, Storm, Thunderstorm, Storm.
