Salming Skills Academy Instr. 1

Ideally you start out by using one hand. Being left hand side shooter you will be using your right hand, and being right hand side shooter vice versa. At first it’s all about being able to keep the ball in the Skills claw area of the blade when performing the circular move on the ground. Once you succeed in doing this part, lifting the ball off the ground into the air (at your right foot) will come naturally. You need to hold the stick/blade with a few degrees angle when making the left-turn move. After that you will need to make the stick and blade turn around it’s own center some degrees coming into the left-turn part of the movement (at your left foot). This will enable you to keep the ball attached to the blade once you turn to the right again. Once you learned to manage the one hand part of the Skills move, you add the left hand for support in order to perform more advanced moves such as LeftSpin and the even more advanced move - the RightSpin.
