Leonard Bernstein - Lucas Richman; Royal Albert Hall, 1988

On tour with the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival Orchestra, Lucas Richman was selected by Leonard Bernstein to be one of two conducting fellows to lead the orchestra in performance at London’s Royal Albert Hall as part of the Henry Wood Promenade Concerts. July 24, 1988, saw Richman (at age 24) conduct Brahms’ Academic Festival Overture following a spoken introduction by Maestro Leonard Bernstein. Worth noticing is Maestro Bernstein sitting in the oboe section, watching on as his student conducts the Brahms overture.
