CHERKASSKY plays GODOWSKY

Cherkassky often delighted his audiences with his charming, spontaneous and capricious performances of Godowsky arrangements and paraphrases. Here he delights and astonishes us with the Strauss/Godowsky paraphrase of ’Wine, Women and Song.’ When Shura was a young prodigy he played for Godowsky at his 65th birthday party. Amongst other pieces, he performed the celebrated Albeniz-Godowsky Tango, and the Schubert-Godowsky Moment Musical.
