Roman theater of Aosta, Aosta, Aosta Valley, Italy, Europe

The construction of the theater is believed to have taken place a few decades after the foundation of the city, in 25 BC: in fact, remains of pre-existing buildings have been found in the area. The amphitheater dates back to the time of Emperor Claudius. The buildings reserved for entertainment, theater and amphitheater, were built in the north-eastern area of the city in a decentralized position, but still near the Porta Pretoria.
