’Nari Shakti’ or Women empowerment was the highlight of India’s 75th Republic Day. For the first time, an all-women tri-service contingent participated in the Republic Day parade. The contingent had 144 women soldiers, 60 from the army, and others from IAF and the Indian Navy. The contingents of the central armed police forces and Delhi police were also led by women personnel.
