New China-Europe freight train route via Central Asia opens

For more: A new international rail freight route has been launched from the city of Baoji in Shaanxi Province with the departure of a train carrying containers loaded with Chinese-made goods to five Central Asian countries. The freight train is loaded with 50 TEUs of goods, including elevators, fabrics, treadmills and laminate floors, worth around $3 million. The train will pass through China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and then head for Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, as well as Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, before continuing to Europe.
